-- Medan Trip (Lake Toba) --

On the second day in Medan - Bandar Baru, we were brought to a newly developed tourist place which is known as 'Pearl of Lake Toba' to view the nice scenery of this famous Lake Toba (it is called Danau Toba in Indonesia). It took us about 2 hours to reach to this place. You wouldn't believe how attractive the scenery is, as if you are looking at an art. Also, the touch of fresh breeze in this place where we hardly find in the city are just priceless for everyone of us.

The first photo I took by my hp camera on the rock. You have to experience it by yourself to know how exciting you will be when you look at this scenery.

The natural creatures which surrond the lake are like the additional touch to this beautiful art.

There is another area where we could take another set of photo. Don't you think this is like a piece of drawing? Sorry, I zoom too much and make the photo a bit blur. :-P

Pearl of Lake Toba - a place similar to Cameron Highland where you can get fresh air but you can't find the nicest scenery of Lake Toba in anywhere in Malaysia.

-- Medan Trip Day 1 --

Last month, my family & I went for a trip in Medan to pay a visit to our relatives. It was such an enjoyable trip and we were able to meet up with several relatives during our trips. Many of my friends are wondering how could I have relatives in Medan, Indonesia, yet I am a Malaysian? The reason was because my mom's grandpa married his second wife who was an Indonesian and there's how our relationship came from. Somehow, I was quite proud to have relatives there as they are so friendly and down-to-earth all the while though some of them are pretty rich. :-P

This is my grandaunt's restaurant and they are selling Nasi Padang. It was newly renovated and built last two years and they had just shifted to this new shop not long ago. The more impresssive thing will be the upper level of this restaurant is actually a nicely design bungalow and my family and I stayed there for two nights.

If you can't find the shop, you will see this signboard right before you reach the restaurant. Hehe.

My grandaunt's great variety of Nasi Padang. It was the famous Nasi Padang Restaurant in Bandar Baru and you normally have to queue up for seats during public holiday.

Toba Cove. We spent FOUR hours to travel from Bandar Baru to this place and unfortunately it was raining and we couldn't really walk around. So, we ended up buying souvenirs there.

The facilities available in Niagara Hotel, the hotel which we visited when we went up to Toba Cove.

Look at the overall living room in the bungalow, isn't it a luxurous design?

A beautiful yellow flowers as another decoration at a corner of the living room, just nice for it!

This is just like an ancient clock and it's very unique. Note there's a OSIM uSqueeze machine beside the clock. Haha~

Last two weeks, dear and I joined his aunty Amy and his cousin bro -- Victor for shopping at IKEA. It was my first time to pay a visit to this famous home accessories shopping centre and it really amazed in the way that they displayed their various showroom such as bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, office and etc. Dear and I bought a new dustbin because of its nice design and it costs us only RM9.90. We had a lot of desire after the visit because we started to dream that our house will be like this and that after observing those showroom's design. Anyway, let's save up some money and turn this dream to become reality one day... Haha!

We had breakfast in IKEA food court where they provide a special food trolley for customers to carry their multiple breakfast set at the same time. This is such a creative design and makes me think of the Dim Sum restaurant. As for our Fried Bihun, Chicken Wings and 4 cups of free flow coffee cost us about RM30++. Thanks aunty Amy for the treat.

This is the executive chair which suit dear's requirement and I think we are going to purchase it during end of this year. Yeah!~ RM199 Exec Chair... Comfortable and relaxing...

Dear told me that he wants his changing room in this design so that he can view a 100 times whenever he changes his clothes and haa his own 'fashion show' in the bedroom. (As you know he likes to place different pose everytime he went for clothes shopping... :-P)

This is the opposite view of the changing room in which dear wishes to hang and keep all his clothes and garment here. Yeah.. Dear, don't forget about my section ya.. I think this design fulfill my changing room requirement as well. :-P

-- New Purse from someone special --

On the same day when we went to Wok & Pan Restaurant, dear and I went shopping in Mahkota Parade. In fact, I just came back from Medan not long ago. Dear heard me complaining about my old purse which he bought for me in MNG sale. So, he brought me House of Leather and asked me to choose a new purse for myself. At last, he'd chosen for me and I thought it was too striking as it is red in color. However, after I got it then only I feel that how charm is the purse, just suit me nice! Thank you dear for being so thoughtful!

Last two weekend, dear and I went to Melaka Raya Wok & Pan Restaurant for dinner. We met my brother and his gf in Mahkota Parade before we went to the restaurant, so both of them joined us. The restaurant doesn't look attractive but in fact the food are delicious and fabulous. Go and try it and I bet you will say the same thing.

Fish & Chips. Sorry, I had eaten some chips and that's why it looked so little.

Last month 11th was my brother's convocation in MMU Cyberjaya campus. I could see how happy were my parents on that day, just like the day I graduated two years ago. I wish I could finish my master as soon as possible and invite my parents again to my convocation. Anyway, I am working towards it...

-- Wai Po's Birthday --

Last month 13th was dear's grandma (Wai Po)'s birthday and we brought her for luncheon in Melaka Great Manson Restaurant. I discussed with dear in prior to decide what present to buy for our lovely wai po. After the discussion, we decided to buy her a bouquet of roses. We immediately headed to florist in Jalan Ong Kim Wee to order the red roses. The next day when we presented the roses to wai po, she seemed very enlighted. Though, Wai po said to us, "Don't waste your money to buy me present next time, ok?" We were touched that wai po is always so considerate to all her grandchildren and in fact she treated me as if one of her own granddaughter. I am very proud to have such a caring and loving grandma.

Happy Birthday, Wai Po! May your life be blessed with health and happiness always!!

Last month, dear got two VIP tickets for this concert band entitled "Hale St. Mary's Concert Band - Chamber Orchestra and Big Band from Perth Australia". This concert band was organized by Malacca Rotary Club as a charity event and was held in Malacca Pay Foong High School.

It was such an interesting concert which I could notice most of the audience paid complete attention to both the performance of Chamber Orchestra and Big Band throughout the entire event. Nevertheless, the merry of applause was non-stop after one performance to another. I would say that the last performance was most interesting because they combined the Hale's St. Mary School and Pay Foong High School orchestra band and you would see all of the audience stood up and gave them a round of applause during the end.

As one of my friends recommended me to purchase a set of vouchers to be used in Amigo, I was very willing to do as I thought it was the western food vouchers. However, it was the Japanese food which are newly offered in Amigo. In the end, I still decided to buy one set because I am a Japanese food lover too. Haha. So the other day, dear and I decided to use it before the expiry date and we invited Mei Ping -- my bro's gf as well.

When we went shopping in Mahkota Parade last month, we had our own sweet time in Kenny Rogers Roasters for lunch. It'd been some time we didn't been there since last year, I guess.

Hot chocolate. Just nice to drink when you feel cold.

-- Pahlawan Mall Wong Kok Char Chan Teng --

Although there had been several times dear and I went for window-shopping at Pahlawan Mall, Melaka, we didn't got the chance to pay visit on this Hong Ki Restaurant. Until recently, we went for shopping and all in a sudden both of us were complaining about the feeling of hungry and craving for food and drinks. Here it came into our mind, why not try on Wong Kok?

Our favorite drinks -- Honey Lemon. One of them was a bit too sour but the other tasted just nice. Why? Don't ask me. Ask the person who prepared it. Haha!

Dear's favorite -- Cheesy baked Chicken Chop Rice. Although it looked overcooked but it tasted as fabulous as you can fin at the other Hong Ki Restaurants.

Dear and I also agreed that this "three scope ice-cream with waffer" was super delicious!!

My favorite -- French Toast. I love to order this dish regardless I am at Hong Ki Restaurant or OldTown Coffee House.

Early of this month dear dear and I went to Port Dickson and this is our annual trip. Why do I say this is an annual trip? It's because we will be going to P.D once a year. Last year around the same day and time, we went and stayed at Guoman Resort and this year we went again but this time we reserved the 5-stars resort - Avillion Port Dickson. I was the one who reserved it online and I had chosen to stay at the Garden chalet due to the refreshing garden mood would be a good experience for the vacation. Let me show you how enjoyable we were during the trip. Hehe!

Two nights before our two years anniversary, dear brought me to Simply Fish for a dinner. The night was cold yet I still ordered cold drinks and luckily I ordered another warm water. This time around we didn't ordered ordinary Fish & Chips or Ocean Deluxe but we tried on some new dishes.

Lemon Juice. Not recommended because it's too SOUR!

Hot Chocolate. Suitable to drink during cold weather.

Creamy Mushroom Soup. You can't find elsewhere.

Chef's Favorite Salmon Fish & Chips.

Fried Calamari. Soft yet crispy!

Seafood Alfredo. Yummy till the max!~

-- Redang Trip [Day 3]

The 3rd day in Redang Island was our last stay at that beautiful island. Everyone seemed not getting ready to leave as they still wanted to enjoy themselves in the island. However, we got to face the facts. We had our breakfast and started to pack our stuff and then Checked-out and waited for the boat transfer to go to Merang Jetty. Goodbye to Redang, where our sweet memory placed in our hearts.

-- Redang Trip [Day 2]

Sorry for the late update.

Here's the 2nd day of Redang trip.

After breakfast, take a photo at the entrance of restaurant under the bright sunshine.

While waiting for the others back from morning marine park snorkeling, I stayed at the room and this is the type of resort that we were staying. (Pool view)

Two of our friends wanted to try on canoe and they had collected the equipment and about to start.

Here is the funny thing -- our friend, Audrey was eagerly sitting on the canoe and waiting for the activity to begin. Look at the next photo and find the differences on the canoe.

So what's so funny? The gal actually sat on the wrong direction of the canoe and this made dear and I laughed non-stop.

Dear didn't joined the afternoon session snorkeling on the 2nd day. So we went to have a walk along the beach.

This sign is funny. The notice wrote "Red-Do not swim; Green-Safe to swim" but look carefully on the flag-- it shows yellow. So what does it mean? Safe or not safe to swim?

-- Redang Trip [Day 1]

As several of friends are waiting to view my photos of Redang Trip. Yeah!~ Finally, I was able to look up for some time just to upload the photos.

This is only for the first day and I didn't uploaded all. Those photos that I'd selected are because they are more meaningful.

Six of us (inclusive of Ashwin, Thomas, Andy, Audrey, dear and I) departed at around 12a.m from Melaka and headed towards Kuantan and then from there we went to Kuala Terengganu.

Andy voluntarily to be the first driver and after that Thomas took over half way. Amazingly both of the Swiss guys were able to read the signboard and recognized the roads better than the rest of us which are Malaysians.

Finally after a 6 and a half hours drive, we reached at Kuala Terengganu Merang Jetty. After we obtained our boat pass, we went for a breakfast before we board on the boat.

Alright, for the rest of day, let's start to view on my photos.

Here you are.. Thomas--the second person who droved and his driving skills was really shocking as the way he drove made everybody thought that we were riding on the roller coaster in the midnight. Haha!~

This is the place where we were waiting for the boat to arrive at the jetty after our light breakfast. We were departing to Laguna Redang Resort which was said as the Five-star resorts in Redang Island.

When we arrived in Redang Island, we were given a briefing and we were informed that the check-in time was 2p.m. However, we could be able to enjoy our lunch starting from 12.30p.m.

This is Laguna's beach area which was suitable for sunbath.

The first photo I took in Redang Island. Dear and I decided to take a walk before the lunch and the sun was really too bright and in fact it was too hot till I couldn't really open my eyes when I took photo. Haha!

Dear and I took a photo at another side of Laguna Resort. You see.. I was forcing myself to open my eyes and dear was cleverer because he wore the sunglasses to avoid the eye contact.

Hehe. This is the place where every Malaysian will capture at least a photo of it. The place where the movie 'Summer More More Tea' was filmed and it had become one of the hot spot promoted in Redang Island.

Haha. How could dear let go a chance to take the photo of this More More Tea Inn to prove that he'd been to Redang?

Yeah.. The next one was me. Don't look at my thigh or legs. I know it's fat.. Haha!

Ngek ngek ngek... Another 'hot spot' that must be taken a photo. I had observed that all the couples would took a photo at this spot to prove that their heart will go on and on..

Dear told me after he took this photo, he felt that he are more potentially to be a photographer. What do you think?

Ashwin and I on the wooden bridge. One of the most sincere colleague that dear has in his company. He was also our roommate during the trip.

Why do I want to share this photo with you? The reason was because the way those marine creatures were drawn was really 'cute'. In Redang, you could go for scuba diving even you don't own a diving license. However, you need to bear for extra charges.

Thomas just had fun at the seaside with Andy and Audrey. Three of them couldn't wait to go into the sea before the snorkeling trip. Do you know how tall is this guy? 192cm. Superb tall...

Such a beautiful scenery on Redang Island's sea. The water was so clear and you have no reason to refuse to go into it.

We reserved for the Pool View Triple-sharing room and this is how the pool view looked like. Not bad huh?

On the first day, only me couldn't joined for the snorkeling trip due to girls' matter. So I stayed in the room and had a good rest. This photo was taken before we go for dinner. We were quite satisfied with the lunch on that day and looked forward for the dinner and most of them were extremely hungry after the sea activities.

Ashwin and dear. Dear said he likes this photo as both of them looked just as natural and relax as they were in Redang.

-- Journey to KL --

On the next day after I went back to Melaka from Cyberjaya, dear and I went up to KL to visit my mom as she was not feeling well.

That was really an interesting journey. Want to know why?

Dear was driving on that day and amazingly he said there was one bus which followed his car closely and kept on 'highlight' him for a signal to give way. We wondered anything went wrong with the bus driver. The bus was driven on the speed of 130 - 140 km/h and it was like far ahead from the limited speed -- 110km/h.

The 'super' bus' plate number was BGM 3116.

Wow. No wonder it could have 'fly' so fast. I wondered what's the feeling of the passengers sitting on the bus. If I was one of them, my face would definitely looked pale like a piece of white paper.

SE Super bus- I wouldn't dare to take this bus even if all other buses are full. Haha!~

Guess where is this place? It's the restroom and prayers' place which were set up in one of the Petrol Kiosk in KL-Seremban Highway. Quite amazed with the signboard available there.

Hehe. The ladies are located at the right.

Seriously I like this signboard very much!~ Maybe because of the design with sky and clouds.
So remember, Don't drive and drunk because you are advised to drive safely.

-- MMU Open Day in Cyberjaya Campus --

As I mentioned in previous post that my colleagues and I went up to Cyberjaya campus one day earlier for booth decoration.

We arrived at about 10.40a.m. and immediately we headed to the Grand Hall and unload our decoration materials to our booth. The location is not strategic at all because visitors could hardly see our booth if they don't come near to that area.

After that, we went to collect our apartment key and we waited for about one hour in the HR office which was located in the new building just opposite the grand hall.

The funniest thing was none of us were around the grand hall to start on the decoration but our boss asked, "Why nobody was in the hall for booth decoration yet?" when he met us in the HR office. It was because only four of us were assigned for the decoration and by the time we met our boss, the four of us were waiting at the HR office because we planned to settle our stuff at the apartment before we start our work.

Afterall, we had our lunch in prior to our work. We started at about 1.00p.m. and we thought it would take us about two to three hours to finish it but somehow it was out of our expectation. Guess what's wrong? The booth was set up using 'shellboard' and we were not provided with double-sided tape. By the time we were able to get the tape, we found out it was not suitable to be used because it didn't work as sticky as we thought. It was short of time and the only thing we could was trying the best to stick the posters and the labels onto the booth. Thus, we ended up to finish at 6p.m. We thought everything would be fine. However, after dinner with our boss, we requested him to 'inspect' the decoration and we took another one hour to have minor modification.

It was a simple design but I believe it looked nice. :-P

The right corner was the place to locate FYP project but the laptop would only 'arrived' on the next morning.

One of my colleague -- Izah was walking around the booth to make sure all the materials didn't fall down before we left for bath.

Hehe. Could you find out the difference from the first photo?

Here you are. We added a 'Welcome' wordings to enhance the decoration but the booth still looked a bit plain.

-- Lunch in Cyberjaya --

Last two weeks I went up to Cyberjaya with a few colleagues for MMU Open Day. We went one day earlier for the purpose of decoration of booth.

It wasn't that tiring when driving up there but the 'nightmare' started when we were looking for a place for lunch. Due to the hunger, we couldn't really think much and Jin Yee was introducing Street Mall as one of the nearest place from MMU campus for lunch. So we headed to this place and we went to a restaurant which sells Penang-style dishes.

Guess what did I ordered?

Penang Char Koey Teow. Of course it didn't taste as nice as what you could get in Penang but the price was really got me shocked -- RM6.00!~

A cup of Orange juice which cost RM3.50. You can get one for RM2.00 in Melaka and it's much more tastier.

As for dinner, we went out with our boss and had it in OldTown Coffee House. I ordered Maggie Mee and Egg Toast and a Hot Honey Lemon.

The whole day in Cyberjaya costs me around RM20 just for meal and the conclusion is the standard of living in Cyberjaya is really HIGH!~

-- Risotto --

It's undeniable that dear is talented in cooking.

Last month, he decided to try something new which he learned from TV program and it's an Italian dish.

It's the Italian Rice but more specifically known as Risotto.

The ingredients needed are Rice, Parmesan Cheese, Butter, Garlic, Chicken Essence (Cube) and Bacon/ Ham/ Sausage.

Hehe.. Want to have a look?

It's amazing that dear could really cooked Risotto and in fact the dish itself is some sort like sticky rice. It's TASTY although it might not look as good as what we might be able to get from professional chef.

This is the spaghetti with cheese and bacon which was cooked immediately after the Risotto because of the extra ingredients left out. The spaghetti was a bit hard (dear forgot to add milk). :P

-- Kg. Lapan Wantan Noodle --

Not long ago dear brought me to this special Wantan Noodle shop which is located in Kampung Lapan, Melaka.

Why would I say that it's special?

Take a look with this.

The special Wantan Noodle that comes with 'white' sauce and this is the 1st time I fall in love with Wantan Mee.

Within the same shop, you can also find a stall selling Roasted Chicken Wing and it's really crispy!~

Actually there's another stall which is famous with Omelette's Fried Oyster. Maybe the next time only I show you the pic. >_P

During the end of last month, we planned to have a dinner at outside as it had been long time for us not going outside for dinner.

Initially, the plan was to eat Sushi. Hmm, yummy~ However, things didn't go as what you have planned. Sushi King was so crowded with human being and there wasn't even a single seat that could be taken.

Thus, here's come Plan B and we decided to go Secret Recipe. As usual, at the end of our dinner, I had bought a piece of temptating cake for my next day breakfast. :-P

The crispy yet delicious Gordon Blue was served after dear's.
He ordered our favourite dish -- Macaroni and Cheese.

Take a look with this post. I really feel that I gained some weight.Maybe because of those delicious and fabulous food.. Haha~ Stop blaming the food! It's my own greediness in term of eating. Must start to control myself...

On the following day in KL, mom brought us out for a lunch and we decided to dine in this Tsim Tung Restaurant. The funniest thing was dear dear ordered the similar food - cheese baked rice for two consecutive days and he said he didn't mind of doing so because he loves cheese baked rice so much!~

It tasted nice but it was a bit expensive.

On the 10th day of CNY, dear dear went up to KL together with me to pay a visit to my parents. Then, we got a chance to go shopping in Bukit Bintang and thus we went for the very first time to this famous Hong-Ki Restaurant, Kim Gary which is located in Sungei Wang Plaza.

Valentines' Day is actually not only meant for couples. I do believe friends would also celebrate and have fun on this special days, except Muslim.

Dear and I exchanged our lovely present to each other on the special day.

Darling presented a bouquet of roses to me and I was so happy. It's really an exciting feeling of receiving flowers on this special day. However, dear said he will buy me another present other than these roses. I am awaiting for the present. :)

So what had I bought for my darling? Haha! You must be kidding. I didn't buy a new bed for my dear but I bought him a new bedsheet. Unique design right?

On 14th of February, dear and I decided to go for a dinner for celebration. Initially we planned to go Harpers Cafe in Jonker Walk but very unfortunately the valentines' dinner set was too expensive which cost RM 350 for two person. We couldn't afford for that and thus we changed our plan to Simply Fish Restaurant.

We didn't know it was the beginning of a sad story because previously we had pleasant experience every time we visited this restaurant.

Perhaps because of Valentines' Day, a special occasion, they were like short of manpower, poor arrangement and scheduling and the service could be rated to below 1 over 10.

Why we rated as such?

We waited for 15 minutes to request somebody to clean up our table. Another 15 minutes just for the waitress to serve us a menu. Then, another 20 minutes for somebody to come and take order from us.

Then, we were patiently waiting for the drinks and food to be served. Guess what? Another 20 minutes later then only the 1st drink was being served. They'd even mistaken the drink that I ordered in my set meal. It took another 10 minutes to serve me the same drink and notify me that the Tropical Punch was out of stock and would be replaced by Iced Lemon Tea.

As both of us were too hungry and the hunger added with the anger could really make us just stood up and walked away from the Restaurant but luckily after a long waiting, finally our food were being served.

We had our dinner in a clumsy manner as we were too hungry.

Lastly, the funniest thing was it took them for about 1 and a half hour to serve us but it took them for less than 3 minutes to again present the bills to us.

Anyway, we just had an unforgettable memory for our Valentines' celebration!

On the 7th day of Chinese New Year, my dear and I invited his grandma (Wai Po), his mom and his sister for a dinner at Melaka Raya Bei Zhan Restaurant.

We saw crowds when we arrived at the restaurant and I guess it was because 7th day of CNY is said to be the Birth-day of everybody. Hence, everybody was eagerly celebrated the special day.

除夕的早晨，我和妈妈，姑姑及妹妹一同到班丹再也的巴刹为除夕晚餐作最后的冲刺。因为我和妹妹都还没吃早餐，就选择在巴刹隔壁的小贩中心吃早餐。妹妹一大清早就要吃经济饭，真拿她没办法。而我自己则选择了吃面包，但绝对不是普通的面包。

那到底我吃的是什么呢？

答案揭晓--煎鸡蛋三文治夹有火腿。
味道是很不错，老板还推荐说那是最好卖的早餐呢！
至于价钱方面，在小贩中心的这个价钱，是有点贵！

上几个礼拜六，我在和老公仔逛街的时候，无意中发现一些令人叽叽称奇的事件。

到底是什么令我大惊小怪呢？

是，没错！这位来自台湾的书法家，得确是失去了她的双臂，但她凭着那股坚强的意志力，磨练着她的书法文笔，结果这就是我们所见识到她用仅存的臂弯力所写出的好书法！

所以，当人面对到逆境的时候，不要立刻就向现实低头，路出失败者的姿态；相反的，我们应该在逆境中不断地耕耘与努力，觅取求生之道，就像这为让人敬佩的书法家一样！

This is a very touching story. Believe it or not? I read it in my office and I cried.

媳婦說：
「煮淡一點妳就嫌沒有味，現在煮鹹一點妳卻說咽不下，妳究竟想怎麼樣？」
母親一見兒子回來，二話不說便把飯菜往咀裡送。
她怒瞪他一眼。
他試了一口，馬上吐出來，
兒子說：「我不是說過了嗎，媽有病不能吃太鹹！」
「那好！媽是你的，以後由你來煮！」
媳婦怒氣沖沖地回房。

兒子無奈地輕嘆一聲，然後對母親說：
「媽，別吃了，我去煮個麵給妳。」
「仔，你是不是有話想跟媽說，是就說好了，別憋在心裡！
「媽，公司下個月升我職，我會很忙，至於老婆，她說很想出來工作，所以 .... 」
母親馬上意識到兒子的意思：
「仔，不要送媽去老人院。」
聲音似乎在哀求。
兒子沉默片刻，他是在尋找更好的理由。
「媽，其實老人院並沒有甚麼不好，妳知道老婆一但工作，
一定沒有時間好好服侍妳。老人院有吃有住有人服侍照顧，不是比在家裡好得多嗎？」
「可是，阿財叔他 ....」

洗了澡，草草吃了一碗速食麵，兒子便到書房去。
他茫然地佇立於窗前，有些猶豫不決。
母親年輕便守寡，含辛茹苦將他撫養成人，供他出國讀書。
但她從不用年輕時的犧牲當作要脅他孝順的籌碼，反而是妻子以婚姻要脅他！
真的要讓母親住老人院嗎？
仔問自己，他有些不忍。

「可以陪你下半世的人是你老婆，難道是你媽嗎？」
阿財叔的兒子總是這樣提醒他
「你媽都這麼老了，好命的話可以活多幾年，為何不趁這幾年好好孝順她呢？
樹欲靜而風不息，子欲養而親不在啊！」
親戚總是這樣勸他。
兒子不敢再想下去，深怕自己真的會改變初衷。

夕晚，太陽收斂起灼熱的金光，躲在山後憩息。一間建在郊外山崗的一座貴族老人院。

是的，錢用得越多，兒子才心安理得。
當兒子領著母親步入大廳時，
嶄新的電視機， 42吋的螢幕正播放著一部喜劇，但觀眾一點笑聲也沒有。

幾個衣著一樣，髮型一樣的老嫗歪歪斜斜地坐在梳化上，
神情呆滯而有一個老人在自言自語，有個正緩緩彎下腰，想去撿掉在地上的一塊餅乾吃。
兒子知道母親喜歡光亮，所以為她選了一間陽光充足的房間。
從窗口望出去，樹蔭下，一片芳草如茵。
幾名護士推著坐在輪椅的老者在夕陽下散步，
四周悄然寂靜得令人心酸。
縱是夕陽無限好，畢竟已到了黃昏，他心中低低嘆息。

「媽，我........ 我要走了！」
母親只能點頭。
他走時，母親頻頻揮手，
她張著沒有牙的嘴，
蒼白乾燥的咀唇在囁嚅著，一副欲語還休的樣子。
兒子這才注意到母親銀灰色的頭髮，
深陷的眼窩以及打著細紋臉。
母親，真的老了！

他霍然記起一則兒時舊事。
那年他才 6歲，母親有事回鄉，不便攜他同行，於是把他寄住在阿財叔家幾天。
母親臨走時，他驚恐地抱著母親的腿傷心大聲號哭道：
「媽媽不要丟下我！媽媽不要走！」
最後母親沒有丟下他。

他連忙離開房間，順手把門關上，不敢回頭，深恐那記憶像鬼魅似地追纏而來。

他回到家，妻子與岳母正瘋狂的把母親房裡的一切扔個不亦樂乎。
身高 3呎的獎杯── 那是他小學作文比賽「我的母親」第 1名的勝利品！
華英字典 ── 那是母親整個月省吃省用所買給他的第一份生日禮物！
還有母親臨睡前要擦的風濕油，沒有為她擦，帶去老人院又有甚麼意義呢？

「夠了，別再扔了！」兒子怒吼道。
﹝這麼多垃圾，不把它扔掉，怎麼放得下我的東西﹞。
岳母沒好氣地說。

「就是嘛！你趕快把你媽那張爛床給抬出去，我明天要為我媽添張新的！」

一堆童年的照片展現在兒子眼前，那是母親帶他到動物園和遊樂園拍的照片。

「它們是我媽的財產，一樣也不能丟！」

「你這算甚態度？對我媽這麼大聲，我要你向我媽道歉！」

「我娶妳就要愛妳的母親，為甚麼妳嫁給我就不能愛我的母親？」

雨後的黑夜分外冷寂，街道蕭瑟，行人車輛格外稀少。一輛寶馬在路上飛馳，頻頻闖紅燈，陷黃格，呼一聲又飛馳而過。
那輛轎車一路奔往山崗上的那間老人院，停車直奔上樓，推開母親臥房的門。
他幽靈似地站著，母親正撫摸著風濕痛的雙腿低泣。她見到兒子手中正拿著那瓶風濕油，
顯然感到安慰的說：「媽忘了帶，幸好你拿來！」
他走到母親身邊，跪了下來。

「很晚了，媽自己擦可以了，你明天還要上班，回去吧！」

他囁嚅片刻，終於忍不住啜泣道：「媽，對不起，請原諒我！我們回家去吧！」

後語

隨著自己愈長大，
看著父母親臉龐從年輕變憔悴，
頭髮從烏絲變白髮 ,動作從迅捷變緩慢，多心疼！

父母親總是將最好、最寶貴的留給我們，
像蠟燭不停的燃燒自己，照亮孩子！

Yes. It's my birthday which falls on the month of January. Last year I had the celebration with dear at Sampan Restaurant, Melaka. This year we planned earlier and decided to go for a buffet dinner. We chose to go City Bayview Hotel.

If you are type of people that are in the category of good eater, then you might think that the tastiness of the food and beverage served in th buffet is average. Furthermore, the variety of food was also limited there. However, if you are thinking of enjoying many type of food and beverages at the same time with reasonable price, I think the buffet there is right suitable for you.

Appetizer - Bun, bread and salad. I like this the most.

Dear's first round -- Nasi Briyani, Chicken rice, Fried Chicken, Mutton, Fish fillet and fried dumpling.

Mee mamak, Yong Tau Fu, Vege, Fried Chicken and Mutton.

Wow. Various dessert awaiting for you. So temptating...

So what he bought for me for this year birthday?

From the very beginning he already informed me that he would buy me a fragance.

We went to test on Calvin Klein (CK) Summer and I really like it.

Unfortunately, we didn't know that it was a limited edition and we thought of buying it at another place and sadly we couldn't find it any else place.

Then, I tested on CK Eternity and at first I didn't really fond on the smell. However, after a while, it seemed lasting and that's why at last dear bought it for me.

I think another meaning behind is the 'Eternity' for our love. Wahahaha~

There was a Saturday where dear and I were looking around Melaka to explore for nice place to have our lunch. All in a sudden, dear dear recalled this place which is located in Melaka town (behind of Putra Hospital). It is actually a hawker center and we chose to eat porridge which was recommended by dear dear.

The one my dear wore is original one. Mine is imitated CK brand which costs RM25 only. Haha!

I was given a surprise for my early birthday celebration two weeks ago, Christine, Chin Nee and Cent suddenly asked me and dear dear to join them for a drink at Mori Cafe. Initially, I thought it was just a normal drink with best friends as Christine finished her final examination and prepared to go back to her hometown the following day. So, undoubtfully, dear dear and I had agreed to meet them before they had a three-weeks trimester break!

Eventually, before reaching to midnight, they requested the part-time singers in the cafe to sing a birthday song and the waiter brought the birthday cake out from the kitchen (they were well-prepared and the cake was kept away before I entered the cafe). I didn't know that the cake was for me as I saw the next table was so excited singing along the birthday song and clapped their hands cheerfully. All I thought was it must be the birthday of one of the guests on the table next to us.

However, before I could further my imagination, the cake was put in front of me. Christine, Chin Nee and Cent gave me a winks and I turned to my dear and saw him giving me a big smile indicating the cake and birthday songs were dedicated to me as for the early celebration of my birthday. I understood that it was a perfect plan by three of my best friends and I actually didn't know how to response. Even making a wish and blowing the candles also made me felt so nervous as I didn't expect on this big surprise.

I am very grateful to these three best friends -- Christine, Chin Nee and Cent where I actually have been treated them as my sister and younger brother all these while. So glad of this birthday surprise and everything that they had prepared on that night especially the cake and the present.

During Christmas day, dear dear and I went to Jusco's Secret Recipe for dinner.
It had been few months we didn't go there for any meal excepts for cake.

Hehe. Dear dear wished to buy all variety of cakes back home. Temptating...

Dear dear mentioned that this shop should be the competitor of The Fish Shop but I think the environment at Fish & Co. is much more better.

Last two weeks, dear's colleagues asked us to go for a drink in The Friends Cafe.

Dear dear suggested to his colleagues to try on a type of liquor named S.O.B.

This is how the drinks served. Liquor with lemon.

Once the waiter lite up the liquor, it needs to be finished up while the liquor is still flaming.

After that, eat the lemon immediately and it will make you feel better as well.

Everyone who tried the liquor was complaining on their feeling of burning stomach and luckily neither dear dear nor I tried. :P

Last few weeks, dear dear planned to bring his colleagues to try the special roti canai in Tangga Batu, Melaka.

Why do we say it is special?

It's because the roti is cooked by charcoal and not the normal roti canai frying pan.

Here you are - the roti kosong.
Don't try to look down on it.
It really tastes 100 times better than any mamak stall roti.

Curry Kurma. It costs RM 5 per plate and it is certainly sufficient to fill up your hungriness.

-- Tips on drinking Soyabean --

All of us know that soyabean drink provides good protein to our body but many of us doesn't know that there are certain days we should avoid.

Soyabean drinks are best consume on hot sunny days where the sun is burning and glaring. The soya milk will gives lots of nutrients to the body, as the body is able to absorb the protein well.

However, avoid the drink when the weather is cloudy or raining. Taking the drink in these weathers, the body will not be able to take in the protein thus will result in a disease called "GOUT" or "high acidic urine" due to the high protein residue in the body, after a long run. This disease will cause pain to your knee joints and it will only be in control when you control your food intake of proteins and medications. The pain is unbearable and usually you will have no idea what you have taken to cause the pain. Food like soya beans, ikan bilis, broccoli, spinach, peanuts, animal organs and etc will have to be avoided to prevent the pain from attacking.

Keep an alert of the pros and cons of soyabean milk and when it is to be taken and avoid.

Many people like to ask their guests, "coffee or tea?" However, I feel to share a story of Coffee or Cup with you.

"The happiest people in the world are not those who have no problems but those who learn to live with things that are less than perfect."

A group of graduates, highly established in their careers, got together to visit their old university professor.

Conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life. Offering his guests coffee, the professor went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups - porcelain, plastic, glass, crystal, some plain looking, some expensive, some exquisite - telling them to help themselves to the coffee.

When all the students had a cup of coffee, the professor said: "If you noticed, all the nice looking expensive cups were taken up, leaving behind the simple and cheap ones. Another couple which are Hui Yen and Wee How also couldn't joined us as they were rushing on Research Officer's Tasks.

We met at Melaka Raya's Secret Recipe and had a nice chit-chat. Both dear and I were very happy to meet friends once in a while as we would be able to know how are they doing although they're apart from us. No matter how seldom we keep in touch but our friendship will be something that grows eternally in our heart.

等到我们点食物的时候,才知道原来店里的店员都不是很友善的,尤其是为我们点食物的那位. 她望人的眼神,就好像是全世界的人得罪了她似的.

在付钱的时候,我原本要写下意见,'投诉'她的态度,像她这样的服务态度,在今时今日如何能立足啊? 但是最后因为老公仔劝我说,凡事都不要太极端,要留点机会给人家,结果'投诉'就作罢了.

There is a newly opened restaurant in Melaka Pahlawan Mall -- Taro.

Dear dear and I got a chance to go there for a dinner on his birthday.

We definitely enjoyed the food as well as the romantic environment on that night.

Before we departed, let's took a photo for both of us... I had no idea what happened to me as I believe most of the people will think I am a geisha... :P

Is this a better look? Seriously, I like this photo very much except for my messy hair. :P

Guess what drink is this?
It's a honey lemon but it tastes more like honey lime. Quite nice...

Mushroom soup. The only moment dear dear will 'deal' with mushroom is with this soup.
* Any kind or type of mushrooms are as if poison to him. Haha!

Taro Fish Fillet.

You must be thinking whether it's enough to make a person feel full but the answer is yes. You will feel full even you haven't finished it up. The tartar sauce is so nice and it's a perfect match with the fish fillet.

Taro Chicken Chop

This is the widely recommended dish where everybody should have tried it if you visit Taro. Couldn't describe it with any other words except DELICIOUS!

I know what you are curious about? What kind of liquor is it? Pure 100%?

Alright it's actually introduced to us by one of dear's Swiss colleague -- Andy.

What Andy did was actually to pour half to one cup of 40% Vodka into a glass. Then he cut the lemon into slices and put half slice of the lemon on top of each of the glass. Next, he dip the sugar cube into the 60% Rum and put them on top of each half-sliced lemon.

That's what he did next. Use a lighter to lit on the sugar cube. The purpose of doing so is to melt the sugar cube. Then, the drinks are ready to be served. You need to finish up the Vodka first, followed by eating the lemon together with the sugar cube right after that. After you 'enjoyed' the drink, you will feel your stomach is on fire.

Sound cool? Certainly it is not 100% pure but if your remember the 40% Vodka and 60% Rum, they sum up to be 100%. Haha!

I bought 3 different presents for him and I guess he like them all as he already utilized every of the present either daily or frequently. Hehe.

It's a Yonex badminton racket but I didn't take a photo on it.

Flashed back memory on Penang Trip.

On the third day in Penang, we enjoyed famous and delicious food as usual as well as met with several friends who are currently working in Penang and definitely we had a nice gathering.

Before we left for lunch, Xiao Chan wanted to take photo in series with ZhenJian's sis - Britney.
Brit is so cute and she even attended puppy's lessons in KL.

It was pretty difficult to persuade Britney to sit still to take a photo. Haha!

Wow... How was the feeling of holding Britney on hand? She loves to kiss her guest if she likes them, just like what she did to me -- kissed me for about three times.

Xiao Chan mentioned that she likes Britney so much and I believe she would definitely like this photo the most as she was like so close to Britney in the photo.

Britney's fur is so soft till you can't stop yourself from hugging her.

Actually my dear and I were wondering whether a kaola lantern could be found inside and because of the 'buy one free one' promotion, we were somehow 'cheated' but we ended up with taking photos.

The second day in Penang, we didn't go to Island but stayed at Butterworth instead.

As we woke up late, so the first meal that we had was considered as "brunch".

We went to Sunway Carnival Mall and had Pizza.

Tempura as additional dishes.

Chicken Soup.

Island Supreme favored pizza.

Hawaiian Chicken favored pizza.

Prawn Olio which was ordered by my dear dear.

Spaghetti Meatball Bolognese which were ordered by Xiao Chan and ZhenJian in two separate sets.

After finishing our meals, took a picture as memories. Look carefully on my tummy. Omg!

Morale of the story: Don't overeat in whatever manner!

Want to know how was our first day trip to Penang? We are really grateful to have ZhenJian and Xiao Chan to spend their time with us for four days long. We enjoyed lots of fun and of course the most important thing was that we were able to enjoy those delicious food which was tasty, delicious and yummy! Oh yeah, Penang, I love you!

Took a photo in front of a chocolate and liquor house in LCC Terminal's Domestic Airport.

Dear dear wanted to show his 'cool' pose but too bad those passengers seemed very annoying.

Once we arrived in Penang, ZhenJian - our best buddy brought us to eat 'Hokkien Mee' in Penang. It's a famous stall named Meng's Hokkien Mee at Jelutong.

Guess what're those two drinks? 'Pat Poh Gu Ling' on the left and 'Gu Ling Bing' on the right. Really tasty and one of them is my favorite drink.

Roasted Chicken and Char Siew Rice. Very famous! We waited for about half an hour but it was really worth to do so.

At night, we went to one of the newly happening place in Penang and enjoyed our dinner at OldTown Kopitiam. This is the Hot Honey Lemon~

Xiao Chan ordered Nasi Lemak with Otak-otak. Taste nice but otak-otak is of course the best in Muar! Haha!

Look at how ZhenJian eat. We persuaded him then only he let us took his eating look. He was enjoying his Kiew Tiau Soup.

And next, my dear dear was enjoying Nasi Lemak with Fried Chicken. He ordered the same as mine! So I don't have to show mine to you. :-P

After meal, still feeling not full as we were the great eater. So ZhenJian ordered French Toast! Look delicious right?

We noticed that it had been renovated and the new environment is definitely better than the previous one.

The renovated restaurant brings you a feeling of having lunch or meals nearby the seaside with bright sunshine.

好久没有和一班好朋友一起在晚上出外去喝茶聊天。

上两个星期六，我的第一科课程考试后，晚上难得有这样的机会，就喝茶去啰！

我和老公仔约了霓霓，CHRISTINE及阿盛（原本还有慧圆和维豪，但他俩在赶PROJECT）。

是CHRISTINE的主意要到这家咖啡馆，因为情调不错。

最先到达的是我和老公仔，我们毫不犹豫地踏入这家HAVANA CAFE。

可能我俩没去过的关系，所以选了最靠近门口的位子（情调当然没那么好）

我和老公仔一坐下，就发现我的最爱--蛋糕。于是，点了饮品之后，我们就到柜台选蛋糕。

原以为可能卖相不大好看，但口感应该不差，但最后还是令我俩有点失望。

最恐怖的莫过于那两片蛋糕的价钱竟然比其他著名蛋糕店的还要贵。

无论如何，那家咖啡馆的确是很不错，可能是我俩选错位子，点错食物罢了。

最开心的当然是和一班好友聊个天南地北，好痛快！

这是老公仔的同事和我俩的杰作... 厉害吗?

上个星期一至星期四, SUSHI KING又再一次举行RM2大促销了.

我和老公仔知道后,都不亦乐乎..

原本星期一要和老公仔和他的妹妹一同去JUSCO的SUSHI KING,但老公仔却偏偏不舒服.

最后,就剩下老公仔的妹妹陪我去了.

说起来我们还蛮幸运的.

别人至少要等超过半个小时以上,才抢到位子,我俩却等了不到二十分钟,就有位子了.

哈哈! 真幸运哦!

后来星期三,老公仔康复了,又带我去一趟.

虽然是和他的同事一同去,但我们却得到最好的位子(最靠近寿司师傅).

最值得一提的是老公仔一人吃了7蝶TEMPURA虾,真的是无人能比!

下次还有促销的话,我俩一定不能错过!哈哈!感觉我好贪小便宜哦!不好意思!有点失礼...

Here is the test you can do yourself:

1. Put some lipstick on your hand.

但我们饿得太厉害了.

小菜一捧上桌,都还来不及拍下来,
我们三两下功夫就杀清光了!

最后可以拍到的,就是吃到太饱而吃不下的烧烤牛肉(我可是不能吃的哦)

国庆日当天,我和老公仔哪都没去,但为了填饱肚子,一定要出门一下.

老公仔兜了好多地方,最终决定在PIZZA HUT吃午餐.

哇!我俩好像饿狼一样,点了好多东西吃,一样都没浪费掉呢!

最后两人饱到走不动了,好不容易才坐上车子! 哈哈!

Finally, the 1 month course ended but the most horrible thing's coming soon.

There will be an examination on coming Saturday.

Although it is pass/ fail only subject, still I feel tension.

I guess it's because it had been a long time I never sit for a test or exam and thus that's where the tension feeling come from..

Anyway, really learn a lot from this course and hopefully I can accomplish my proposal defence by December.

Thanks Cikgu for his effort in teaching us although sometimes H. yen & I couldn't really absorbed what he taught as his explanation was too 'philosophy'. Haha!

That's why we are pursing master of philosophy. :-P

Today, and in fact not even today, I need to thank Nini sis for helping me a lot.

When I couldn't get my job, she told me not to worry as she prayed for me.

When I got my job, she asked me not to be so tension and all her advice was helpful to me.

When I was not in good mood, she told me her story and asked me not to be sad.

Like today, when I was hungry, she went and bought me food for my lunch.

I don't know how to thank her to be with me all the while no matter I am happy or sad.

Thus, I am appreciating and will continue to appreciate her as my SIS.

When I was still studying my Bachelor degree, I always wondered what is meaning of having Senate in the faculty?

Who are actually the Senate?

Once I joined CADP then only I found the real answer.

Members of Senate consists of all the lecturers inclusive of the Head/ Dean of the faculty.

Haha! The first time we were called for meeting with ERU, then I was shocked with the discussion on whether all the member of Senate agree with the graduation status of certain students.

Couldn't believe that I am one of the member of senate in CADP.

So one of the 'advantage' of being member of senate is the opportunity to be invited to attend convocation. Not only to attend but you will be observed by thousands of parents and graduates to enter the hall before Tun Dr. Siti Hasmah. Isn't it sound cool?

It was pretty boring because we could hardly talk on the stage. What I had done for the 4 hours on the stage was day-dreaming. Haha!
